Grandma's Green Beans

  • Clean and slice green beans. Pack tightly into jars, making sure to leave 1/2 inch at the top.

  • Pour boiling water over green beans to fill jars.

  • You may add pickling salt to the boiling water if preferred (prevents the water from becoming cloudy, but is not necessary).

  • Run a non-metallic spoon around the sides to eliminate air bubbles.

  • Add sealed jars into a boiling hot water bath.

  • Boil jars for 3 hours, keeping the water line at least 1 inch above the tops of the jars.
